
Wimbledon, the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament, was organized for the first time in 1877 by the All England Lawn Croquet Club in London.

The main courts of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon are maintained all year round by a team of about fifteen gardeners and are used only during the two weeks of the tournament - and exceptionally for particularly important events, such as the Olympics.
